I had a pain of Anellon& Davide knee-highs boots that I bought in around 1968, dyed in say 1980, and only gave up wearing in the late 90s, when I couldn't wear a Cuban heel any more.

Enlightening as always, Mike. Thank you. I suspect there’s a whole history of rock ‘n’ roll through footwear to be told. It all started with Blue Suede Shoes after all.

Thanks Ray, another marvelous evocation of Sohos forgotten niche stories : I remember walking past the A & D shop in my 80s wanderings and clicking the name, instinct telling me that this had a hidden story to tell…. now thanks to you, it’s out!
