I had a pain of Anellon& Davide knee-highs boots that I bought in around 1968, dyed in say 1980, and only gave up wearing in the late 90s, when I couldn't wear a Cuban heel any more.
Enlightening as always, Mike. Thank you. I suspect there’s a whole history of rock ‘n’ roll through footwear to be told. It all started with Blue Suede Shoes after all.
Thanks Ray, another marvelous evocation of Sohos forgotten niche stories : I remember walking past the A & D shop in my 80s wanderings and clicking the name, instinct telling me that this had a hidden story to tell…. now thanks to you, it’s out!
A finely researched piece - who knew the Beatles had their feet in famous shoes ??
Ray.
Thank you Ray
Loved this, worked around the area & at Covent Garden. Brought back some memories.

My platforms were a pain too but I struggled through to about 77 with them!

Sorry Mike! I dunno where that Ray came from… too much sunshine at my end….
I loved this Mike. I love the boots too. Next time I walk passed Salsa! I’ll click my heels.
Thank you Margaret.
This makes me feel nostalgic for a time/ place that I never got to experience.
